Experience

Since announcing my candidacy in September of 2007, I have attended every BOCC meeting, from the beginning to the end. I have also attended dozens of LPA, MPO and other county and environmental meetings. I am a leader in our community; I’m the president of the Palm City Elem. School PTA, as well as the Vice Chair of the board of directors for United for Families (the organization that oversees all of the providers that care for all foster and adopted children in 4 counties.) I am also a successful local business owner, employing 12 people at Sweet Sarah’s Ice Cream & Chocolate stores. I understand how the commission’s actions directly affect our local economy. Having worked for a multi-billion dollar international company gives me the experience needed to guide our complex county government. I will be respectful of the process and to the people who participate in it. My ability to negotiate and looked at issues objectively, coupled with my community involvement makes me the most qualified candidate.
